The Plaza Cinema is a four screen cinema in the heart of the historic county town of Dorchester, West Dorset.

It has been serving the town since 10th July 1933, when it first opened as a single screen cinema.

The cinema has been renovated with a modern twist on the tradition 'Art-Deco' architechture; of the building.

ACCESSIBILITY

We are committed to provide facilities that meet the requirements of all our customers.

This includes – but is not limited to – Autism and Sensory Friendly Screenings of popular family films on a regular basis, which are presented without adverts or trailers, with lower volume and the lights are left on low. The whole building is strictly monitored to ensure as little 'sensory overload' as possible.

As the front of the building is stepped, access to the foyer is via the side door on the left hand side of the building, where there is a doorbell to alert our staff and request assistance.

We have baby changing facilities in one of the downstairs toilets.

We welcome the use of The Cinema Exibitors' Association Card (CEA).

This is a national card that can be used to verify that the holder is entitled to an extra ticket, free of charge, for someone to accompany them to the cinema.
